- 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa have no access to electricity - women bear the huge burden of this energy poverty and disproportionately shoulder the harmful effects of climate change - Solar Sister provides women with economic opportunity, training and support to distribute clean energy to underserved communities in Africa. - We have launched over 3,000 sustainable businesses providing clean energy to over one million Africans. Key Activities- our Theory of Change is rooted in the knowledge that local women are enterprising, creative, hard working, and committed to improving the wellbeing of their families and communities.
