Everyday, novel digital solutions and technological applications emerge aiming to radically modify the reality of the energy sector in the world. This responds to the processes of integration of renewable energies, the growing demand for energy and the latent need to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

To contribute to the transformation of the energy sector, the Energy Partnership between Mexico and Germany consulted experts from the energy sector, digitalization and disruptive technologies, in particular Blockchain, to determine the problems that the latter could solve. As a result, three possible use cases have been identified: decentralized CEL markets, contract registrations and automation, and decentralized energy markets in the industrial sector.

As consequence, the German Mexican Energy Partnership and Siemens Energy México are opening this platform to find the best ideas, innovative solutions and business models based on blockchain, which address the aforementioned use cases and allow to pave the future of the Mexican energy sector.
