Proper end-of-life treatment of energy saving lamps is an important aspect as theses lamps are counted as waste electronic equipment (WEE). Consequently they do not belong into the regular bin, glass or plastic waste but need to be collected separately. Thereby, the energy saving lamps on one hand provide components (glass, metal, plastics) that are valuable for recycling. On the other hand, they contain harmful substances such as mercury. This part of the Service Package informs about proper treatment of the energy saving lamps and assists in cleaning up anxieties vis-à-vis the potentially harmful substances of these lamps.
